Dan Brecht was born and raised in Platte County. He retired from teaching in 2008 after 35 years. Dan taught most of those years in the Platte County School District #1 schools, but he also taught in rural Albany County schools for 6 years and in the Mat-Su Borough School District in Palmer, Alaska, for 3 years. Having lived and worked in Platte County most of his life, Dan believes strongly that we need to work hard to develop a high quality of life for Platte County residents through quality job creation, attacting new business and industry, working to strengthen existing businesses and industries, helping to incorporate new technologies in Platte county's agricultural community, and making our communities cleaner and healthier places to live and work.
Dan has been the director of Platte County Economic Development for a year and a resident of Platte County for most of his life, and he is eager to share with you the many benefits to living in Platte County. "There's really no finer place on the face of the planet for outdoor recreation opportunities such as camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking and photography. The people here are dedicated to maintaining a high quality of life and are eager to welcome new businesses and industries that share that same vision."
